In it's mechanical linear configuration the pilot becomes a true backup steering system. The unique fully de-clutching drive link attached directly to the rudder stock provides steering in pilot mode without reliance on any other part of the steering system. In the de-clutched mode the pilot is so completely disengaged that there is no detectable friction added to the steering.

EXPANDING THE BASIC SYSTEM

While the 3000 is not an "interfaceable" pilot, there is a comprehensive selection of accessories to expand the features within the 3000 system.

AUXILIARY CONTROL UNIT

Designed for the flying bridge and cockpit installations on vessels with two steering stations. This unit is waterproof and designed to be bulkhead mounted outside. The pilot can be turned on or off and course can be changed or set from the auxiliary control station.

HAND HELD REMOTE

This accessory allows you to manually steer from virtually anywhere on board. The steering knob acts as full power steering with knob position corresponding to rudder angle. The pointed knob lets you "feel" the rudder position even in the dark. When control is returned to the pilot mode it will return to the compass course selected on the main control. It comes with a 25' retractable cord and one deck. Additional jacks may be added.
